Products that nobody needs - because they are ineffective and useless

At the beginning and during the Corona crisis, many products against the virus sprouted from the ground, which are still available.

IDE-Compressors has been dealing very seriously with the subject of air quality for many years and would therefore like to do a little educational work here,

because these questionable products are used to fool customers into thinking that they have a health benefit, and these largely useless products keep appearing in national and international tenders.

For example, the product of a well-known German manufacturer, killing viruses with a UV lamp in the intake tract of a breathing air compressor.

The question arises in general, how is the virus supposed to get into the intake tract of the compressor?

With the high air throughput and speed of the air flowing through

the UV LAMP is practically completely ineffective.

The viruses can only be killed if they are in direct contact with the UV lamp for a few seconds.

But certainly not 99.9%, again the manufacturer claims, because the contact time with the lamp at the high flow rate of the air flow is far too short to really have any effect here.

 The manufacturer's claim that the viruses are not killed during the compression process despite the high temperatures in the compressor because the contact time is too short due to the high flow rate is absolutely wrong.

Viruses burst at about 60 ° C and do not tolerate pressure either.

During the compression process the air is compressed three or four times to pressures between 4 and 420 bar and in each compression stage the air is heated to at least 120°C and far higher.

Which virus is supposed to survive there?

In addition, the activated carbon in the final filter also removes any virus.

The manufacturer uses its good name here to sell the customer something that is relatively expensive and cannot fulfill the advertised purpose.

It is very questionable that a well-known German research institute used its good name and logo for the manufacturer's advertising of this product.

As described in the BILD newspaper of May 27, 2020:

"With bold promises, many retailers are trying to get the money out of their pockets during the Corona crisis, "often pure rip-offs"!

True miracle products such as medicinal mushrooms that kill the virus, or the bee product propolis and UV lamps are advertised.
