As one of the well-known high-pressure compressor manufacturers, we have supplied many compressors to racing teams. These compressors are used in motorsports to generate high-pressure compressed air, which is used to operate fire suppression systems, high-pressure impact wrenches, and vehicle lifting systems.

Typically, the air generated by the compressor is pumped into larger compressed air cylinders, which serve as intermediate storage units. The various applications are supplied with the required air from these storage units.

When compressing air, the humidity contained in the intake ambient air precipitates and is collected and separated by several condensate separators. The remaining residual moisture is then further dried in a downstream dryer unit with alternating desiccant cartridges. This is vital for survival, especially when using the compressed air as breathing air by the fire department or in diving.

However, regular replacement of the dryer cartridges is also absolutely crucial in motorsport, because if the dryer cartridges are saturated and not replaced, moisture (condensate) gets into the storage bottles, where the condensate leads to pitting and rust, which can then result in disastrous and dangerous „bottle bursts.„.

By the way, our new composite storage cylinders 20L and 45L for 200 or 300 bar have no problem with that!

Since almost all racing teams that bought the compressors from us have never reordered dryer cartridges, it is reasonable to assume that these have not been and are not being replaced.

Therefore, our urgent request is that you replace the cartridges regularly!
