Used breathing air compressors – tested, with IDE quality
Used and demonstration breathing air compressors from IDE are refurbished returns and exhibition units – fully tested technically, but less expensive than a new unit. Inventory is small and constantly changing, so a direct inquiry is worthwhile.
How a used IDE compressor is made
Our used devices come from three sources: returns from leasing or demonstration use, exhibition pieces from trade fairs, and devices that were taken back in the course of model changes. Before resale, every device goes through the same technical inspection as a new device – the compressor block, pressure control, filter stages, and safety valves are checked, and worn parts are replaced.
Small inventory, honestly communicated
Unlike with new equipment, the selection of used and demonstration models is limited at any given time – for example, a G-series compressor block up to 360 bar is currently available, but this can change constantly. We do not keep stock “in reserve” for this category. It is best to inquire directly which model is currently in stock and which final pressure (200 or 300 bar) is suitable.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a used and a demonstration breathing air compressor?
A used compressor has already been in service, for example as a lease return. A demonstration unit has mostly just been at trade fairs or in technical demonstrations and correspondingly has fewer operating hours. Both undergo the same technical inspection prior to sale.
Do I get a warranty on a used IDE compressor?
Yes, we offer a 5-year warranty on certified used and demonstration devices – the same period as for our new devices. We provide details about the warranty upon inquiry for a specific model.
What inspections does a used device undergo before sale?
Every unit undergoes a complete technical inspection – compressor block, pressure control, filter stages, and safety valves. Worn parts are replaced before the sale, not after.
Why is the selection of used devices so small?
Because we do not maintain a separate inventory for this category. The stock consists exclusively of actual returns, display items, and phased-out products.
Is a used compressor also suitable for fire departments and public authorities?
Yes, provided the technical requirements for final pressure and breathing air quality are met – we check this prior to delivery just as we do with a new unit.
Are there also used compressors with a final pressure of 300 bar?
That depends on the current inventory – 300-bar devices regularly come in as returns or demonstration models. If you have a specific inquiry, we can tell you whether a suitable model is currently available.
Can I inspect or test a used device before purchasing?
For diving clubs, fire departments, and other B2B interested parties, this is generally possible – most easily via a direct inquiry.
How often does the selection of used and demonstration equipment change?
Irregularly, but ongoing – depending on returns and items being phased out. Anyone who doesn't find a suitable item right now can sign up to be notified.
